What a consultant's website needs
A consultant is looked up, not discovered. Someone gets your name from a former colleague, or an assistant is told to find three people who do this work, and your site decides whether you make the list. They are reading on behalf of a company, so they check what you take on, who you have done it for, and what you cost. The site needs four things:
- one page on the problem you solve, not the methods you use, written in Dutch and English where the client's team is international
- a biography that names the sectors and the size of company you have worked in
- your day rate or hourly rate, written down, because the person reading has a budget line to fill
- a first call they can book straight away, while the shortlist is still open
Case studies and a newsletter can come later. When a buyer asks ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity or Google for an operations consultant in Rotterdam, those four items are what gets read back.
Online booking for a consulting practice
The awkward part is that you are rarely free when the client is. You are on a client site Monday to Thursday, the proposal writing happens in the evening, and the only hours you can honestly offer are the ones left over. The usual patch is a Calendly link beside a payment link, the rest in your head. Posato lets you draw that shape properly:
- hours set per weekday and per service, so a first call can be offered on Friday only
- a buffer after each call, because the write-up is part of the call
- a free 30-minute intro call and a paid half-day at your own rate on one site
- a booking window, so a client cannot put you in the diary in March for September
- blackout ranges for weeks you are on site full time
A client sees only the hours you opened. What they book arrives in your back office, the schedule updates itself, and the confirmation goes out without you touching it.
Moving a consulting site off Wix, Squarespace or WordPress
Send us the address of what you have now, a Wix or Squarespace page, a WordPress site a developer set up years ago, or one page you wrote yourself. We rebuild it behind a private preview link, and nothing replaces your current site until you say so. The three steps are on the home page.
What a consultant's website costs with Posato
Through the beta you pay no subscription and nothing for the build. We earn a 5% commission on each payment a client makes through your site. A month spent inside one long engagement that you invoice yourself costs you nothing here. The rest of the answer sits in the questions on the home page.
