What an event host website needs
Your name reaches an event manager three ways: a venue passes on a list it trusts, someone who sat in your audience mentions you, or a speaker bureau has you on file. They open your site knowing their date and nothing else. What the site has to show is that a room is safe in your hands. Four things do that:
- the kinds of day you take on, a conference, an award evening, a wedding ceremony, on one page
- a page about you, because a client is hiring a person to stand in front of their room
- Dutch and English on the same site, because so many rooms in this country are mixed
- your fee, as a day rate or a starting figure, not "on request"
Photos of you working a stage belong there too, though they rarely settle it. When someone asks Google, ChatGPT, Claude or Perplexity to name a host for a congress in Amsterdam, those same four plain pages are what the answer is built from.
How an event manager asks about a date
The date is only the first line. A host's fee sits on more than the hours on stage: a briefing call, a programme to read, an opening to write, a run-through before the doors open. So the site's job is to get the date, the kind of event and the shape of the day into one message.
- an enquiry form carrying four fields, name, email, phone and a message, and the date and the programme go into the message
- a free 20-minute intro call you can actually book, sitting on hours you choose, with a gap behind it
- every enquiry arrives in your inbox, an answer goes back to the sender on its own, and you get a notification
- a booked call writes itself into your schedule, and the confirmation that reaches the caller is one you never touched
The form asks for no date at all. A client types 14 March into the message, the way they would in an email, and that is where you read it.
Moving an event host site off Wix, Squarespace or WordPress
You send the address of the site you have now, on Wix, Squarespace, WordPress or anywhere else, and we rebuild it on a private preview link. Your current site stays live until you approve the new one, and any page that moves keeps its old address through a redirect. The three steps are on the home page.
What an event host website costs with Posato
While the beta is open there is no subscription and no build fee. A host who only takes enquiries pays nothing at all, because the 5% commission comes off payments taken through the site and there are none. A month with no events costs nothing. The rest is in the questions on the home page.
