A walking tour website needs three things: the walks you run with their start time and meeting point, a seat count that closes a departure when the last place goes, and a way to pay for that place on a phone. Someone books a walking tour the night before, from a hotel bed, on a phone. They are choosing between you and two other walks, and what decides it is whether they can tell where to stand and whether a place is left on that departure. A brochure page loses them. Four things do the work:
Route photos do more work here than a logo. Google, ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity pull their answers from those same lines when a visitor asks for a walking tour in your city.
A departure holds a fixed number of people, and the room it fills is a street. You cap the group at twelve or fifteen because that is as far as you can be heard, and when it is full it is full. Posato treats a departure as a group with a ceiling:
A new booking arrives in your back office and your schedule updates itself, with the confirmation email sent for you. Cash handed over at the statue you enter as a manual booking.
Most tours sell one or two places at a time to people who found you that week. A school, a team or a family reunion wanting a date you have not put on the schedule is a different conversation. The two cards show both.
Someone picks the 10:00 departure, pays for a place through Stripe, and the count drops by one immediately. Once the final place is taken the departure stops selling, so you are never leading fifteen people on a walk you capped at twelve. If rain forces you to call a walk off, you refund each booking from its own record.
A school, a company or a family picks a date and asks to have the guide to themselves. The request is held until you say yes, so nothing is confirmed while you check whether you can be in two places that morning. You approve it and they get the confirmation without you writing one.
You send the address of the site you have now, on Wix, Squarespace, WordPress or a listing page you do not own, and we rebuild it on a private preview link. Your current site keeps running and taking bookings until you approve the new one; the three steps are on the home page.
While the beta is open there is no subscription and no build fee. When someone pays for a place through your site, we take a 5% commission on that payment, so a quiet February with no walks on costs you nothing. The rest is in the questions on the home page.
You cancel each booking on that departure from the back office and refund it from the same screen, whole or partial, your choice. Every cancel takes effect at once, with ten seconds to undo it if you clicked the wrong one.
Yes. Each is its own tour with its own hours, price and seat count, so they fill separately. The site itself runs in both languages with a switch, and each language has its own address.
Yes. A booking can be marked as a no-show in the back office, so your record of the departure matches who actually walked. Their payment stays yours unless you choose to refund it.
No. You can price by age tier, and add a rule for group size on top, so two adults with two children pay differently from four adults on the same departure. Add-ons such as a museum ticket are counted per head.
