Websites for a yoga studio

A yoga studio website needs three things: a page that says what the classes are and who they suit, a way to take a spot without a WhatsApp message, and a class that closes itself when the last mat goes. Posato is a service that rebuilds the site you already have with all three built in, and you approve it before it replaces anything.

What a yoga studio website needs

Most studio sites are written for people who already know the timetable. Someone who has never done yoga arrives with different questions: is this class for a beginner, how long is it, is there a mat waiting or should I bring my own, and can I come once without signing up for anything. A site that answers those and then lets the person take a spot has done most of the work. In practice that is four things:

  • the class types, each with its own length, a 60-minute weekday class and a longer one on Sunday
  • who each class suits, said plainly, so a first-timer knows which one to pick
  • your price per class, stated, including what a single drop-in costs
  • a way to take a spot at eleven at night, which is when people decide

Google, ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity read the same things when someone asks them for a yoga class nearby, so writing them out once serves the person reading and the tools answering.

Class booking for a yoga studio when the mats run out

A class is not a one-to-one appointment. The number that matters is how many mats fit on the floor, and when the last one goes the class should stop taking people instead of collecting names you have to turn away. Studios keep that count in a WhatsApp group or an Instagram thread. Posato treats the class itself as the thing being booked:

  • a seat count per class, so eight mats means eight spots and the ninth sees it is full
  • the hours you teach, set per class, so Tuesday evening flow and Sunday yin have their own times
  • a buffer after each class for airing the room and laying it out
  • how far ahead people can book, plus the weeks you close
  • payment at booking through Stripe, a free spot, or a request you approve before the mat is held

Students see only what you have opened. A booking lands in your back office, the class list fills itself in, and the confirmation goes out without you writing it.

Paid class spots, or a request to join

Some studios want the class paid as soon as the spot goes; others want to see who is coming, especially for a small class or a beginners course. Both are set from one screen, and the cards below show what each means for a student.

The student pays when they take the mat

The class is paid through Stripe at the moment the spot is taken, and that mat is held. You see the payment and the class list in one place, and a refund goes through the same screen if you have to cancel the class. Each class is paid for on its own, and the 5% commission comes out of what the student paid.

The student asks, you confirm

No card and no charge. Someone picks a class and asks for a spot, it lands in your back office, and the mat is held until you approve it. Useful for a beginners course where you want to know who is coming, and for a small class you keep for people you have taught before.

Moving a yoga studio site off Wix, Squarespace or WordPress

You send the address of the site you have now, on Wix, Squarespace, WordPress or a studio platform you have outgrown, and we rebuild it on a private preview link. Your current site stays live and keeps taking people until you approve the new one; the three steps are on the home page.

What a yoga studio website costs with Posato

While the beta is open there is no subscription and no build fee. When a student pays for a class through your site, we take a 5% commission on that payment. A quiet week with no classes costs nothing. That is how we make money; the rest is in the questions on the home page.

Questions yoga teachers ask before switching

Can I sell a class pass or a monthly membership?

Not yet. Every class is booked and paid on its own, so a ten-class card or a monthly subscription is not something the site can sell today. Drop-in classes and courses booked per session work now.

What happens when the last mat is taken?

The class closes itself. The seat count you set per class is the real limit, and once the last spot goes the class stops accepting bookings, so nobody turns up to a full room.

Can different classes have different lengths and prices?

Yes. Each class is its own service with its own length, price, hours and booking mode. A 60-minute weekday flow and a 90-minute Sunday class sit side by side on one site.

Someone cancels on the morning of the class. What do I do?

You cancel the spot in your back office, with ten seconds to undo it, and refund in full or in part from the same screen. You can also set a cancellation policy with a deadline, a penalty and a grace period.

Send us your studio website.

We rebuild it with booking built in and send you a preview. You approve before anything replaces what you have.

Free while in beta. A 5% commission on payments taken through your site. That is how we make money.
